How long have you been at your 9-5 job? Do you love your job or do you hate your job? Do you need extra income? There are a lot of people around the world who actually love their job. On March 30, 2023, Pew Research Center did a research on how Americans view their jobs. It shows that only 51% are satisfied with their job. It also shows that people who are 65 and older are still working a 9-5. It seems that the full retirement age to receive social security benefits keeps rising. Could it be because many people just can't keep up with the increasing cost of living? That's a good question.
Many people have to work more than one job outside the home to keep up with their bills and help reduce their debt. The average American household debt is OUTRAGEOUS! Many have filed bankruptcy more than once, filed for reorganization of their debt, requested forbearance more than once for student loans, or they just can't pay the minimum amount on their bills; therefore they are sent to collections or are threatened with the disconnection of their electricity, phone, etc. As a result, many marriages end in divorce do to debt.
So what's the alternative? Entrepreneurship! Statistics show that Entrepreneurship is still rising. I am speaking for myself here, but the reason I left my 9-5 job is because as early as my 20's, I never liked working for someone. Working for someone was my only source until I really knew how to escape. I dabbled in different entrepreneurship opportunities since my late 20's, but they never worked because I didn't have the intelligence on how to make it work. I worked at a company for 14 years...up until 3 1/2 years ago. 3 1/2 years ago, the Lord spoke to me and commanded me to leave my job, sell my condo, and move to another location. 3 days letter, I turned in my resignation. My supervisor tried to get me to stay, but it was time for me to leave. 6 months before I left my job, I was working as an independent contractor as a delivery driver. After I left my 9-5 job, I sold my condo and moved to another location, and am doing well as an entrepreneur (delivery driver, author, affiliate marketer). I am currently looking into other streams of income. Why? Because having multiple streams of income is extremely important just in case one opportunity goes away or isn't doing well at that moment due to the season.

In the beginning of my journey, I began as a food delivery driver. I also added a shop and delivery app 1 1/2 years ago. After doing the food delivery apps for 2 years, I was no longer impressed. For me, they were a waste of time, gas, and money because the pay wasn't worth it. I am currently using 2 delivery driver gig apps. One I have been utilizing for 1 1/2 years and the other app I've been utilizing for 6 months. I enjoy both, but as I said before, I am currently looking into extra streams of income. Of course, it is your choice to become a food delivery driver. I am not telling you not to.
